PergoLux pergola review
PergoLux makes a solid louvered pergola for less than most premium kits, and owners with a complete delivery are mostly happy with it. It costs about $2,000 less than a comparable Hansø at 10×13. The thing to plan for is delivery day: the most common problem is a missing or damaged part, so check every box before you start building.
The 100-day trial comes with one condition worth knowing before you order.

How much does a PergoLux cost?
PergoLux sells three aluminum louvered pergolas in the US: the manual Pergola 4, and the motorized 4 Pro and 4 Pro Max. Each comes in seven sizes from 10×10 to 13×19 feet, and here’s what they cost at the two most common patio sizes. Every size is on our PergoLux page.
| Product | Size | Roof | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| PergoLux Pergola 4 Manual Louvered Pergola | 10×10 ft | Manual louvers | $4,218 |
| PergoLux Pergola 4 Pro Motorized Louvered Pergola | 10×10 ft | Motorized louvers | $5,193 |
| PergoLux Pergola 4 Pro Max Premium Motorized Louvered Pergola | 10×10 ft | Motorized louvers | $7,465 |
| PergoLux Pergola 4 Manual Louvered Pergola | 10×13 ft | Manual louvers | $5,595 |
| PergoLux Pergola 4 Pro Motorized Louvered Pergola | 10×13 ft | Motorized louvers | $6,995 |
| PergoLux Pergola 4 Pro Max Premium Motorized Louvered Pergola | 10×13 ft | Motorized louvers | $10,145 |

PergoLux shows every price as about a third off a higher list price, all year round, so treat the sale price as the real one. Shipping is free.
The price is for the kit. You still need a level concrete base, an electrician for the motorized models, and two people for the build or PergoLux’s installation partner, which quotes labor at checkout.
What owners like
PergoLux averages 4.2 stars from about 650 reviews on Trustpilot, and 77% of them give it five stars. Owners mostly praise how solid and clean the finished pergola looks, and the staff who helped them choose.
Several owners describe snow sliding off the closed louvers and the frame riding out storms without trouble. Leaks barely come up at all: none of the recent negative reviews we read mentioned one, which is unusual for a louvered roof.
What owners complain about
Only about one review in ten is negative, and most of those are about delivery rather than the pergola. The usual story is a missing or damaged part that holds up the build, followed by slow replies while the replacement is sorted out. Some buyers of custom sizes also waited months longer than they expected.
Is it good value next to Hansø?
Yes, on price. At 10×13 the manual Pergola 4 costs about $2,000 less than Hansø’s manual Pro+, and the motorized 4 Pro about $2,400 less than the Hansø Horizon. That’s a real saving for a roof that does the same job on a normal patio.
What Hansø gives you for the extra is longer cover on the louvers and sizes up to 13×26 feet. If you want the full side-by-side, read PergoLux vs Hansø, and for other brands see the best louvered pergolas.
Warranty, the trial and returns
PergoLux covers the frame for 10 years and the finish for five. The moving parts and electrics, which are the pieces most likely to need attention, get two years. Register your purchase as soon as it arrives, because the cover isn’t transferable and only applies in the US and Canada.
The 100-day trial is the part to read closely. You can return the pergola, but only once it’s fully installed, and the 100 days start 10 days after it leaves the warehouse. If PergoLux collects it, $1,000 for freight and a $500 restocking fee come out of your refund.
So the trial protects you against a pergola you genuinely dislike, not against a change of heart before you build. Be sure of the size and model before you order, and treat about $1,500 as the cost of changing your mind.
Can you build it yourself?
Yes, with a helper and a free weekend. PergoLux says two people can build one in four to eight hours, but owners more often report a long day with a hired crew or several days for a couple working on their own.
Neither the kit nor the installation partner covers the concrete base or the wiring for the motorized models. Our pergola installation guide explains what that work involves.
Who should buy a PergoLux?
Buy one if you want a premium-looking louvered roof on a standard patio without paying Hansø or dealer prices, and you’re happy to build it or hire a crew. The motorized 4 Pro is the sweet spot for most people.
Look elsewhere if you need a very large or custom size, or want longer cover on the louvers, in which case Hansø is the closer fit. If budget comes first, our best louvered pergolas list cheaper kits that do the same basic job.

Questions
Is PergoLux a good brand?
Owners mostly think so. PergoLux averages 4.2 stars from about 650 Trustpilot reviews, with praise for a solid frame and a clean look. Most complaints are about missing parts on delivery, not the pergola itself.
Is the PergoLux 100-day trial really risk-free?
Not quite. You can only return a pergola that’s fully installed, and PergoLux deducts $1,000 for freight and a $500 restocking fee if it collects it. It protects you from a pergola you dislike, not from ordering the wrong size.
Do PergoLux pergolas leak?
Rarely, going by owners. None of the recent negative Trustpilot reviews we read mentioned a leak. As with any louvered roof, seal the joint carefully if you attach it to your house.
Where is PergoLux from?
PergoLux started in Europe and sells in the US through PERGOLUX LLC, based in Connecticut, with warehouses in Connecticut and California. It’s accredited by the Better Business Bureau with a B+ rating.
How long does it take to build a PergoLux?
Plan on a full day with a crew, or a weekend or more for two people. PergoLux says four to eight hours, but owners usually report longer, especially for a first build.
Can you buy PergoLux at Costco or Home Depot?
No. PergoLux sells from its own website and showrooms. The louvered pergola Costco carries is a different brand, which you’ll find in our best louvered pergolas.
