10×10 gazebos
A 10×10 gazebo covers about 100 square feet: a table for four or a two-seat sofa, not both. Every kit on this page is a little under ten feet on the outside and less than that between the posts, so measure the patio against the posts. Buy a steel hardtop if it stays up all year. The one fabric top costs a fraction of the price and comes down for winter.
Five of the six kits share one idea: a two-tier steel roof with a vent gap, netting and curtains in the box, on four posts that are aluminum or timber. The choice between them is the post material and whether you want daylight through the roof. The sixth is a fabric canopy on a steel frame, and it costs about what a good patio umbrella does.

Is a 10×10 gazebo big enough?
One hundred square feet is a small bedroom. Under a roof that size you fit a round table and four chairs with room to pull them out, or a two-seat sofa, two armchairs and a low table. You do not fit a six-seat dining table, and you do not fit the table and the sofa together. For that you want a 10×12 or a 12×12 from the gazebo section.
The bigger catch is that 10×10 is the roof, not the room. Sunjoy publishes three sizes for each kit: the roof, the overall footprint, and the clear space between the posts. On every hardtop here the posts stand closer together than the roof edge by a foot or more, and the entry height under the beam is about six and a half feet. A tall guest ducks.

Measure your patio against the post spacing and the entry height, not the roof. If the table you own is more than eight feet across with the chairs pulled out, it does not fit under a timber-post Kingston, whatever the box says.

Prices are the manufacturer’s published list price on the verified date, before tax and delivery. A price shown for one size is that size only. Per-square-foot figures divide the price by the nominal footprint and are computed by us; they are omitted for bracket kits, which have no footprint of their own. Per-square-foot uses the nominal 100 square feet. The Kingston Aluminum and Kingston Horizon are priced by finish; the table shows the cheapest.
The table has one fabric top and five steel ones, and the gap between them is not a quality gap within one product. It is two products. The Chatam is a steel frame under a polyester canopy: it shades a lunch, slows a shower, and comes down before the first storm because Sunjoy’s warranty excludes damage from the weather. The hardtops are a roof. Rain runs off the steel, snow sits on it, and the gap between the two tiers lets the heat out at the top.
Buy the Chatam if the gazebo is for one summer, a rental, or a yard you are not sure about yet. Buy a hardtop if you want to eat under it in October. There is no middle price at this size, so decide which product you are buying before you compare finishes.
Aluminum or timber posts under the same steel roof
The 10×10 to start with: powder-coated aluminum posts, a two-tier steel roof with an oversized vent, curtains and netting in the box, and hidden channels in the beams for a light. Three finishes, priced apart. Skip it only if you want timber or daylight through the roof.
The same roof on timber posts, and the kit that states a snow load and a wind rating where the aluminum version states neither. The posts want a coat of stain every few seasons, and the clear space between them is the tightest on the page.
The Kingston with a translucent polycarbonate upper tier, so the space under it is lit rather than dim. Pay for it where the patio is already in shade; skip it on a south-facing slab, where the light arrives as heat.

Slimmer black posts, a reinforced triangular corner and a dual-track rail for the curtains and netting, at about the Kingston price. Sunjoy publishes no warranty text for it. Buy it for the look; ask for the warranty in writing first.
The polycarbonate-vent roof on timber posts, and the dearest 10×10 here by a few dollars. Buy it if you want both the daylight and the wood, and accept the stain schedule that comes with the posts.
Aluminum posts need a hose. Timber posts need stain and a dry footing, and the two cedar Kingstons give up a foot of clear space against the aluminum ones because the posts are thicker. The roof is steel on all five, and the coating scratches during assembly. Sunjoy’s warranty says rust at a scratch is not a defect, so keep the touch-up paint.

Surface oxidation of steel components where the protective coating has been scratched is not treated as a defect.

Every hardtop on this page ships with privacy curtains and mosquito netting on a rail, which is the whole difference between a gazebo and a roof on posts. Zip the netting and the mosquitoes stay out; draw the curtains and the low sun does. The Chatam ships with the netting and not the curtains. None of them ships with a light, and every one has a ceiling hook for one, so budget for the fixture and the lead.
Anchor it. A steel roof on four posts is a sail, and every kit ships with plates or pre-drilled feet for the bolts. Bolt it to the slab before the curtains go on.
What to watch for
- No 10×10 kit was confirmed in stock when last read. Sunjoy’s prices move week to week; the figure shown is the list price on the date on the row.
- The roof is 10×10. The posts are not. The clear space between them is a foot or two smaller on every kit, and the entry height is about six and a half feet on all of them.
- The Kingston Aluminum and Kingston Horizon are priced by finish; woodgrain and slate grey cost more than brown or espresso. The grid shows the cheapest.
- The Summit Minimalist publishes no warranty text. The other five carry Sunjoy’s one-year residential term.
- The furniture and the light in every photograph are not included, and Sunjoy says so on each listing.
Questions
Is a 10×10 gazebo big enough?
For a table of four or a small seating group, yes. It covers about 100 square feet, and the clear space between the posts is smaller than the roof, so a six-seat dining table or a table plus a sofa needs a 10×12 or larger from the gazebo section.
Should I buy a hardtop or a soft-top 10×10 gazebo?
A hardtop if it stays up all year: the steel roof takes rain and snow that a fabric canopy will not, and the fabric warranty excludes weather damage.
