Hansø Horizon Smart Pergola
From $7,488
Aluminum | Motorized louvers | 10×10 – 13×19 ft
Freestanding or wall-mounted
For phone control in the box, pick Hansø or PergoLux. For a roof that closes itself in rain, Hansø, BON and The Luxury Pergola sell a sensor. Before you buy, check the motor warranty: at Hansø, PergoLux and BON it is shorter than the frame’s. Rarely adjust the roof? A manual kit skips the motor cost.
For prices see Motorized pergolas, for brand rankings see Best louvered pergola brands, and for what a motor adds see Pergola cost.

From $7,488
Aluminum | Motorized louvers | 10×10 – 13×19 ft
Freestanding or wall-mounted
Buy it for phone and voice control plus a rain sensor from one brand. Hansø says the app, remote, Alexa and Google Home work out of the box, and it lists a rain sensor, sold separately. Skip it if you want years of motor cover: the warranty page gives motors one year.

From $5,193
Aluminum | Motorized louvers | 10×10 – 13×19 ft
Freestanding or wall-mounted
Buy it if your home runs on Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home or SmartThings: the kit has an app and a remote, and Matter over Thread links it to all four. Skip it if you want a rain sensor, because none is listed for its louvered roofs.

From $13,100.17
Aluminum | Motorized louvers
Made to order | Warranty: Lifetime, Transferable
Buy it for motor cover that matches the frame: the warranty names the motor and covers it for as long as you own the home, apart from Somfy parts. Skip it if you want phone control in the box: the standard package is a remote, and phone control is an add-on.

From $3,299
Steel + aluminum | Motorized louvers | 10×13 ft
Buy it for the simplest setup: a wireless remote in the kit for louvers and lighting. Skip it if you want phone control or a rain sensor, because its page states neither.
Only PergoLux and Hansø include phone control in the kit. BON and The Luxury Pergola sell it as an add-on with a hub, the extra device that connects the roof to your phone. Mirador, Erommy and Paragon publish no app.
“Not published” in the table means the brand’s pages say nothing about it. It does not mean the feature doesn’t exist. Ask before you buy.
| Kit | Remote | Phone app | Voice and smart home |
|---|---|---|---|
| BON Villa, Villa 2.0 and Grand | Not stated as included | Add-on: Bond Bridge Pro hub, sold separately | Through the Bond hub. BON lists Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and Siri |
| BON Weatherproof | In the kit | Add-on: Bond Bridge Pro hub, sold separately | Through the Bond hub, as above |
| Erommy Electric Louvered | Remote or an integrated control panel | Not published | Not published |
| Erommy Smart Electric, 4 screens | Not published; button control only | Not published | Not published |
| Hansø Horizon and Apex | Remote listed | In the kit | Alexa and Google Home. Apple HomeKit is named on some lines of the Horizon page and left out of others |
| Mirador 111S e-Motion | In the kit, for louvers and lighting | Not published | Not published |
| Paragon Signature | The page contradicts itself; see the note under this table | Not published | Not published |
| PergoLux Pergola 4 Pro and Pro Max | In the kit | In the kit, over Bluetooth | Matter over Thread: Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings. Needs a Thread border router |
| The Luxury Pergola Signature and Ultra | Handheld remote in the standard control package | Add-on: Somfy TaHoma smart control option | Not published for the Somfy option. The Bond Bridge Pro it also sells lists Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings |
Every cell is the brand’s own statement. The sources are linked in the text around the table and listed at the bottom of the page.
Paragon’s Signature page disagrees with itself. Its copy promises motorized louvers with an included remote. Its spec table lists a manual crank and a remote only if LED lighting is added. Ask Paragon which drive and remote ship with the kit you configure.
A remote is enough if you will walk out and press a button. If you want the roof to open at four in the afternoon without you, you need an app and, for schedules, a smart-home system on top. PergoLux’s own connectivity guide says schedules and automations run through the smart-home app.
PergoLux uses Matter over Thread (works with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings). The roof pairs through a Thread border router, a device such as a HomePod, Apple TV or Nest Hub that relays it. PergoLux says most buyers already own one.
Hansø’s Horizon page names Apple HomeKit in its FAQ and leaves it out of its feature panel. Ask which is right before you count on Siri.
Erommy’s Smart Electric has “Smart” in its name but describes no remote, app or power supply on its page. Check the box list before you assume a remote.
Want it to close for rain? Buy a kit with a sensor. Hansø, BON and The Luxury Pergola list one for their louvered roofs, and each sells it separately.
PergoLux lists no rain sensor for its louvered roofs, only one for awnings, on its accessories page. Mirador, Erommy and Paragon list none.
At BON and The Luxury Pergola, the wind, rain and sun sensor needs the Bond Bridge Pro hub, so a sensor means a hub too. That is the Breeze Pro sensor: see BON’s and The Luxury Pergola’s. The hub is the one that adds phone control. BON’s plain rain sensor does not name a hub. Buy the sensor your model is listed for.
| Brand | Sensor listed for its louvered roofs | What else you need |
|---|---|---|
| BON | Rain sensor for the Villa, Villa 2.0 and Weatherproof. Bond Breeze Pro (rain, wind, sun) for all four kits | The Breeze Pro needs the Bond Bridge Pro hub |
| Erommy | Not published | Not published |
| Hansø | Rain sensor for the Horizon and Apex, “closes it automatically at the first drop” | Not published |
| Mirador | Not published | Not published |
| Paragon | Not published | Not published |
| PergoLux | None listed; the only sensor on the accessories page is for awnings | Not applicable |
| The Luxury Pergola | Breeze Pro (rain, wind, sun) | Needs the Bond Bridge Pro hub |

Ask the brand whether the sensor you want fits the exact kit you are buying. The side-by-side view below shows every accessory five of the kits list.
On a motorized roof the motor’s warranty is the one that matters. It is usually the shorter one. PergoLux, Hansø and BON all split their warranty, and the electrical parts get the shorter term.
The Luxury Pergola’s wording puts the motor and controls on the same lifetime footing as the frame, with one carve-out: Somfy electronics carry Somfy’s own term. Mirador, Erommy and Paragon each give one term for the product, and their product pages name no motor or electrical term. Ask whether the motor sits inside it.
Watch out: Hansø’s Horizon FAQ says its 10-year warranty covers the mechanism. Its warranty page gives motors and electrical parts one year when bought with the pergola. Do not count on ten years of motor cover without it in writing.
Get the motor’s term, the labor rule and the registration deadline in writing before you pay.
Wind ratings are not compared here, because the same brand gives different numbers for one model. See the weather section of the louvered guide.

Open the list below to see what ships with each kit and what you supply yourself. Look at the “not included” side first. Anchoring bolts, the foundation and the outlet are the lines that cost money later.
Hansø lists no parts for the Horizon or the Apex, so nothing shows for them. Ask for the list before you order.
The Luxury Pergola’s list was written before its Somfy smart option and still carries an older line about a Bond Bridge. The controls table above has the current options.

Yes, with PergoLux and Hansø, which include app control in the kit. BON and The Luxury Pergola sell phone control as an add-on with a hub. Mirador, Erommy and Paragon publish no app. See the controls table for each kit.
Yes for BON: its phone control needs the Bond Bridge Pro hub. The Luxury Pergola’s smart option is a Somfy TaHoma system. PergoLux needs a Thread border router, a device such as a HomePod, Apple TV or Nest Hub, and says most buyers already own one. Hansø’s Horizon page says control works with no extra hardware.
Yes, but only with a sensor. Hansø, BON and The Luxury Pergola list one, each sold separately. PergoLux lists no rain sensor for its louvered roofs, and Mirador, Erommy and Paragon list none. Details are in the sensors section.
No at PergoLux, Hansø or BON, which give electrical parts a shorter term than the frame. Yes at The Luxury Pergola, whose wording covers the motor for as long as you own the home, apart from Somfy parts. Mirador, Erommy and Paragon name no motor term on their product pages. See motor and electrical cover.
Anchoring bolts, the foundation and an outlet at a post are the lines to check, and for several brands so is the hub or sensor you need to match another kit. The box lists show each kit’s “not included” lines, and Pergola cost covers what that adds to the project.
